Much appreciated such a great amount for posting this. I have an inverse issue however. I have email notices checked (turned on), yet I am not getting warnings in the event that it’s a Google+ remark on my post.
Hi, Sheena. On your computer, log into your Google account and visit https://plus.google.com/settings. Scroll down a bit to the “Receive notifications” section. Under it, click on “Posts” revise your G+ notification settings for post sharing and comment notification. If you need iOS or Android directions, visit https://support.google.com/plus/answer/1054277?hl=en. Please let us know if this helps!
Much obliged to you for your answer. Yes, I was precisely saying that. Also, I checked my Junk mail organizer yet the Google+ remarks are not there 🙁 I utilize hotmail and my email location is right on my Account page.
“Much appreciated such a great amount for posting this. I have an inverse issue however. I have email notices checked (turned on), yet I am not getting warnings in the event that it’s a Google+ remark on my post. I truly loved getting informed by email on the off chance that I had another remark yet in the wake of empowering Google+ remarks, I never know whether I have another remark or not. Any tips would be welcomed.

Sometimes when I post a comment, I get a notification about it!
Wanda I have an opposite problem.
How do I stop email notifications from being sent to other people when I post in google plus?
I have tried unchecking the different circles and signing out of hanging out but they are still be sent.
Thanks
Hi, Brent. Thanks for dropping by. Actually others control whether they receive post emails or not. Each user must decide in their own settings how they want to be notified (or not) for each of their circles. If you want to minimize who is notified of a post, just select the one or two circles to share your posts. If you just want to post to your own stream rather than posting to your circles, I guess you could create a circle that has no followers and only share with that circle. But the whole point of sharing is to share. Perhaps if you have people in your circles complaining about receiving emails, you can share this tip with them: Log into google and then go to https://plus.google.com/settings. Check the settings under the “Receive notifications” section. This is where people can control what they receive emails for. Hope this helps.
Great I can turn of email notifications but how do you stop the one’s coming individuals not the communities.
Try this to to turn off any or all Google+ e-mail alerts:
Step 1: Click on the drop-down beside your profile photo at the top right-hand corner in Google+.
Step 2: Click on Account link in the pop-up menu.
Step 3: Click on Google+ from the menu on the left side.
Step 4: In the new page that opens, scroll down to the Alerts area. You can change the checkboxes next to events you do or do not want to receive e-mails for.
Note: This is also where you can adjust the alerts that appear on your phone.
Hope that helps!
Wanda,
Thank you for this helpful post. It was EXACTLY the information I needed. I appreciate it. I will be back. Would love to know more about your travels and your 900 trees!
Lisa

🙂
Thanks so much for posting this. I have an opposite problem though. I have email notifications checked (turned on), but I am not getting notifications if it’s a Google+ comment on my post. I really liked getting notified by email if I had a new comment but after enabling Google+ comments, I never know if I have a new comment or not. Any tips would be appreciated.

Hello…thanks for dropping by! Are you saying that you logged in to Google Account settings and under the “Receive notifications” section, you checked “Comments on a post I created”? If that is the case, take a look at that same settings page to ensure that your email (and phone number, if applicable) are correct. If so, then check your email’s spam folder. If you find G+ emails in there, be sure to whitelist them so they don’t keep going to spam. Let me know if any of this helps.
Thank you for your reply. Yes, I was exactly saying that. And I did check my Junk mail folder but the Google+ comments are not there 🙁 I use hotmail and my email address is correct on my Account page.
I have read that problems like this come and go. But you might try a mention of this problem to https://plus.google.com/107150983484568200135. From your Google+ profile stream enter +Google+ Help and then your message.
Thank you. Will do that.
Google+ has a significant problem with Communities in terms of notifications. The communities flood you mail box with enormous amount of notifications and there is no way to turn JUST email notifications off – it’s either all (emails and alerts) or none. Should be the way to turn off emails but leave alerts.
Thanks for commenting, Eugene. i could not agree more. Lately I have heard on almost every Google-related webinar that continual changes and improvements across Gooogle+ are expected to happen over the next few months. I will say that I have had some good experiences already in the Communities so I am trying to visit them regularly, but now am considering setting up a filter to catch all @olus emails to put them in a folder so I can keep them out of my inbox, but review them a couple of times a week. I, too, am looking forward to a better solution.
